1 Month for Luna Noelle Mitchell

Today, or rather yesterday, marked Luna’s first month. Erika made a trip to our doctor and Luna weighed in at a svelte 7.2 pounds, I forget the length. However, I quickly went onto a percentile baby ranking site and found that our little girl is officially on the chart! Yes, Erika and I beamed at the computer screen as it confidently read: “3% weight and 3% height” We have a baby on the chart!

For those of you keeping score at home, Mira is on the chart now. But wasn’t for at least the first 3 years. I think Mira is up to like the 5% in weight. Of course her head is in the 15%. Yeah, she thinks that she’s hot stuff.

We took our holiday card pictures this week, in case you were wondering where it was. We plan to mail them out in the next week or so. I don’t want to spoil the pics we’re sending, but…

The 2009 Holiday Card

Normally I don’t dig on holiday cards with just kids in them. Seriously, the people who are getting these cards don’t “hang out” with Mira and Luna. However, I’m lazy this year. So, you get the kids and that is that. I’ll be creative and inclusive next year.

We also decided on the birth announcement which is also going out. Here’s Erika’s fav…

Hello World!

What’s great is that most families send out the holiday card with the yearly write up. Not us. It’s awesome. I made these address labels with the blog address on them. And it says something like, if you want to read about us, check out the blog. We figure it’s 2010 and about time Grandma and Grandpa got on the internet. For the record, both of our parents now officially have high speed internet. Sniff, I’m so proud!

Mira has decided that she wants to be sick lately and has thrown up the last two nights all over. The weird thing is that it is only once and then she feels fine. Last night Erika gave me permission to hang out after work and have a beer at the bar. I had been there 15 minutes and just gotten my first beer and 4 yummy tacos when the phone rang. “Get home now, there’s puke everywhere.” While I did rush home, I could not help but finish my tacos and beer. They were so good! This morning, Mira got up and decided that she was freezing and would need a lot of stuff to keep her warm, here’s our arctic explorer:

70 degrees in the house? No way!

Erika meanwhile was taking care of Luna who is a complete handful:

So much work!

We are hoping that tonight ends Mira’s vomit streak. If so, we’re gonna spend some quality daddy/daughter time at the car dealership getting my oil changed tomorrow. How exciting! Word on the street is that there is this indoor, glow-in-the-dark put put golf course nearby also. We may even check that out.

What’s up with the daddy/daughter time? Well, mommy has her two best friends in this weekend. And we are trying to stay out of their way. Jamie Marine drove 5+ hours from Spring Lake, Michigan. Keeley Hurley is actually flying in tonight from Tuscon, Arizona. How crazy is that? I’m not even sure if my brothers called me after we had Luna. Women just function on a different wavelength I think.

At some point in the next few days. I’m going to post some of my favorite pics of 2009 that you probably haven’t seen.
