May came to the Mitchell house in a great flourish. We started with a trip to Muskegon for “Mom & Daughter Day” at the church Erika frequented when growing up. I was surprised but, we actually had 4 generations there with the girls, Erika, Grandma Cheryl and Great Grandma Marion.
Great Grandma Marion was so excited to see Luna, she just wanted to hold her. Then again, all that little girl does is smile. What’s not to like?
And of course, Erika’s father Mark and I did a little scouting for our upcoming fishing trip at the end of June. We decided to take Mira with us as we checked out some exclusive spots only Mark can get to. Well, maybe a few people can get there, but Mark’s the only person I know that can. Fish were stacked up and we’re getting excited for the end of June. Mira was just happy to feed the big fish rocks, cause you know, “They are very hungry!”
We had another trip a week or two later for my grandfather’s birthday. I’d say that we got a great picture, but you’ll have to settle for a shot of Mira outside the country club squinting…
One could say that Luna is getting bigger. Which she is, every day. One could also say that Luna is getting ornerier, but that would be a flat out lie. See…
I had another birthday, my 39th. It was celebrated with little fanfare. Just a nice green cake with chocolate frosting and lots of candy on top. Yes, Mira demanded that this would be my favorite. I must say that it was delicious. Go figure.
And we took Mira to a local tricycle race down the street at the high school. I’d like to say that Mira was locked in and excited about it. But that would also be a flat out lie. She had absolutely zero interest in the tricycles and big wheels. No, she was all about the high jump and pole vault pits. That and climbing all over the stacked up hurdles. I don’t try to figure it out anymore, I just take the pictures and write the blog…
I’ll be updating quite a bit in the next week so check back often or just subscribe. We’ve got more trips to Michigan, several to the zoo and a amazing trip to Virginia.
