Jamie arrived mid-day from Michigan and Keeley arrived from Arizona around 10PM. Those 3 have been friends since the mid 90’s. Just for fun, I grabbed a pic of the three of them at our wedding back in 2002:
They were up late Friday, then all three slept in on Saturday. Looking for an opportunity to get Mira out of the way, we did make the trip to the car dealership (oil change) in the morning.
Looking at potential options for the day on how to keep Mira busy, it occurred to me that we haven’t been at the Zoo in a while. The Cleveland Zoo is amazing and Mira just loves going there. They also have a completely enclosed rain forest building. It’s huge, the temperature is a balmy 75 degrees and it’s filled with all kinds of animals: Crocodiles, Monkeys (Curious George), birds, turtles, bats and of course kids all over the place. She ran around for a few hours and had a great time.
Back home, Mira actually took a nap and the girls began getting ready to go out for the evening. I snapped a quick pic while they were getting ready.
The night wasn’t too long, though I had both Luna and Mira for a few hours all by myself. Yes, I was terrified. Luna took a bottle and Mira went down for that wonderful nap, which is amazing because she does not normally nap.
Sunday was fairly low key and Keeley was amazed at Luna. “I’ve never held a baby this small.” At 7 pounds, we think Luna is huge!
Jamie was out Sunday evening and Keeley left early Monday morning. But they had a wonderful time catching up. Mira got a few new toys and Erika and her two best friends we able to reconnect. It’s been a few years since the three of them were able to spend some time together.
