Harvey Warrick got me my first real job. Yes, I had spent time flipping burgers and doing odd jobs while in high school. While a young college freshman at Michigan State, I answered a newspaper ad. An old friend of our family answered the call, Harvey Warrick. I thought Harvey was a farmer, however I found out that he worked for our local state representative, Tim Walberg at the state capitol in Lansing.
Tim’s office was looking to sponsor a page at the state capitol to run bills and important documents across the capitol grounds. It was a cool job, and one that would eventually lead me to getting another position at the state working in the Telecom Department with Brenda Cucci. We all know that it was Brenda who used to babysit Erika and introduced the two of us. In a way it was this guy that sent my life in the direction that would shape my future!
Mira and every young child love animals. And what animal is cooler and funner then a baby sheep? Ok, maybe bunnies, kitties, duckies and puppies. But aside from that, what is cooler than a lamb? None I say!
Harvey is still one of the “premier” sheep guys in our county. What does “premier sheep guy” mean? It means that Harvey is the only guy I know that has sheep and is available at a moments notice to let my daughter play said sheep. So, we went to visit Mr. Harvey while in Adrian, Michigan at my parents house.
Harvey gave Mira some special hay when she got there and Mira had those sheep eating out of the palm of her hand!
Then it was time for Mira to start checking out the lambs. While she was petting one through the wall of a pen, another sheep was checking Mira out.
Then she found a little lamb to pet a bit more.
Harvey held this lamb while the two got up close and personal!
Erika and Luna were there to witness the wonder. Of course you can’t really tell that’s Luna. Little babies are mostly just a pile of blankets and jackets while outside in March!
While I was chatting it up with Harvey, Erika grabbed the camera and took this pic of Mira sitting on a straw bail.
And I just can’t leave such a cool pic of Mira without adding another cool one of Luna.
It’s amazing, but Luna is about the sweetest little baby. She eats, sleeps and poops. When she cries, she is hungry or gassy. That’s it. Great little baby and she’s just growing before our eyes.
Erika goes back to work this week and Luna is heading to a new daycare. I’ll be sure to get some pics of her first day and update soon!

Did you forget that Mira & Luna’s Grandma & Grandpa Mitchell were there.
Harvey also gave me my fist real job, he is a great guy. He also imports sheep from all over the country having some very interesting breeds.
