Yes, I’ve accepted a new job back in Michigan. The movers are scheduled to stop by in the coming weeks and we are off to temporary housing while we look for a reasonable place to rent for a year while we get acclimated to the area.
However, the four of us are still in Cleveland. And what better way to finish it off than have a party. Well, we didn’t have a party. Mira’s teacher, Mrs. Salerno, actually threw the party. Her and Mira have been buddy, buddy for the past year and a half or so. We figured the move would be hardest on Mrs. Sam, as we like to call her. Sam threw Mira’s going away party and invited all of Mira’s friends from school and even rented a bouncy house. Seriously, I’m not joking.
We arrived onsite and lots of the kids wanted to take a picture with Luna, who was only happy to oblige…
Then the kids proceeded to fill up on candy and jump in the bouncy house for the next few hours. It was pretty awesome. You’ve gotta love an early August night for fun and games. It was 80 degrees, no bugs and just beautiful in Cleveland. A wonderful memory. We snapped a picture of all the kids and Mrs. Sam at the end of the night. So happy everyone!
We decided to head down to the park the following day before we finalized our packing. The Cleveland Metroparks are truly spectacular and one of the few things in Cleveland that we will miss. Back in the park, Mira engaged in her favorite activity in the world: throwing rocks into the river. It is called the rocky river you know…
In answer to your question, yes she did pick that outfit out. She loves those boots.
Luna decided that she wanted to pose for a picture with me by the river. She is so sweet!
If I told you that Luna is always with me, that would be a lie. When we need to split up with the girls, I normally get Mira and Erika gets Luna. I’m not sure why, but that Luna sure is a momma’s girl. Yes, she’s happy with me. But Luna loves Erika.
After we left the river, we went back into the park and there was a huge cement fountain area flooded that some kids were playing in. As this was our last trip to the park, we figured what the heck. We let Mira take off her clothes and run around in her underwear and play. Erika and Luna even hiked their pants up and got their feet wet.
Mira was a bit less modest. Looking back at these pics, I can only imagine the filth and nasties in this water. But Mira sure had fun here.
Back at the house, we spent our last 24 or so hours packing and getting ready. I’m writing this post some 7 weeks after this actually happened. But Mira is still talking about this next picture almost everyday. See, our old neighbors were Wyatt and Macy. And Mira will tell anyone who will listed, that includes about half a dozen people just yesterday that she’s getting married to Wyatt. When you ask, Saturday. She’s gonna wear a pink dress. Wyatt seemed mildly amused when she told him back in Cleveland. Literally, our last hour in Cleveland as a family, we snapped this shot of the four kids. Ahhh, memories…
Yes, Luna was already in her car seat when we snapped this picture. We left Cleveland shortly there after. Goodbye Cleveland, we’ll miss you but not too much.
Rockford here we come!

Love reading these…Thanks, Pat! Glad your back in MIchigan.
Bye Cleveland! We miss you!
