On our way home the other day, we noticed signs up on our street to be prepared for a “5K race” and “this road will be shutdown” Really? Seriously? Cool!
What you should know is that we’re fans of the sport. So, we found out when the race was exactly and walked down the street with the girls and found a place that we could watch the runners twice as they went by at different times.
It was wet and a bit drizzly. We convinced Mira that she wanted to go by riding in the pink car and using the Ladybug umbrella. Gotta love novelty items!
Here’s Mira waiting patiently for the runners…
Erika kept Luna entertained while Mira and I were yelling, “good job” to the runners. Actually, I was yelling, “Good Job” Mira was yelling stuff like, “Faster! Faster!” or “Daddy, he’s not running. Hey you, get running!” That’s an instant classic.
April was another birthday month for us. Erika turned another year and my mom was nice enough to volunteer to drive 2+ hours to Cleveland and watch the girls while we went to the movies.
When Grandma arrived on Saturday, we were getting ready to goto another birthday party for a girl from Mira’s class, Abbey. I bring it up because it was at Chick-fil-A.
For those of you not from the area, Chick-fil-A is like a hip Kentucky Fried Chicken. However, don’t let them fool you. They sell good old fashioned, fried chicken. That’s right, batter it, fry it, stick it in a paper box and let me clog my arteries. Mmmmm, so good.
We don’t spend a ton of time there, but Erika and I were curious as to what a Birthday party would look like in a fast food chicken restaurant. What I didn’t realize is that they have an indoor play area and a giant cow that runs around and messes with the kids. Seriously, I have evidence…
I’m not sure how we managed, but all the kids were corralled long enough to actually get a group shot. You can probably guess who the birthday girl is, she the one sitting on the cow.
Ah, fun times…
We made our first official visit to the local park this weekend also. Grandma was able to spend some quality time with Mira on the slide.
And the big surprise was that Luna got to have her first ride on a swing. Yeah, she’s a big fan…
Luckily, I was also able to take a short video to mark the momentous occasion. Hope you enjoy!
