They called it the middle school Super Saturday. I know there’s another name for it, but mostly it was a chance for Mira to run around and play games and collect tickets. I’m always looking for cheap fun and this was great. Most of the middle school rooms were broken out into games. Mira bought a little bracelet for $7 and she got to play as much as she wanted. Lines were manageable and we stuck with the easy games.
Pop Pops and Grammy came to visit from Muskegon and we all headed over to the Middle School together. Luckily, this school is all of about 1/2 mile from the house. Yes, I did forget the camera and yes I did have to go home and get it. No, I don’t want to talk about that anymore. It wasn’t a very pleasant memory.
Mira’s journey wound up playing a ball game.
Then the day expanded to making bracelets. Yes, the bracelet did fall apart before we left the school. Yes, Mira got all upset and started crying. Yes, I had to get on my hands and knees and pick up all the beads. It was super cool.
Tennis ball toss was a big favorite. Nevermind that she was 2 feet from the hole. However, she got almost every ball she threw in and it was impressive to see her make some progress with hand to eye coordination. It’s been something that we’ve been really worried about in the past.
Now, when one collects enough tickets at these events. You get to goto the prize room and pick something out. Two early front runners for Mira were the glasses and slinky combo.
Big surprise, she wound up going with the stuff animal (to add to her growing army). This one’s name is Wilbur. Wonder why?
Back home we were up for a memory game with Grammy. It’s kind of cool, but Mira is getting better at these games. At least the memory part. She’s still not so much for the rules. However, who are we kidding? Rules are for squares anyway!
And of course, through out the day Luna was the usual terrible baby. Tons of screaming and carrying on. Oh, the things we put up with for that baby!
Up next, St. Patty’s Day in Cleveland. Who would have thought it was such a big deal?

Sounds like the Mitchell’s had a great day at the Middle School Bonanza. Thanks for the pictures. Glad you ran back to the house to get your camera. Take care. Hope to see everyone soon.
