Back to the pool and a visit from Darcy

It has been close to 3 months since Mira slipped at the pool and suffered the head injury. Our old neighbor from Rocky River had a birthday party at the local Holiday Inn. It was actually one of Mira’s baby sitters, Gaby. We figured now was a good a time as any and brought the swimming shorts for a nice dip in the pool.

Mira took one look at the pool and was so excited to get wet. A quick change in the bathroom and into the pool we went. The pool was nice and warm and Mira was having an incredible time. Erika and I took shifts and Mira pretty much stayed in the pool for the next 2 hours. No shallow end, just Erika and I dragging her around the pool and letting her pretend to swim. Good stuff. Here is a pic from the pool.

Don't let the serious face fool you!

After the pool party. We began to get closer to Mira’s 3rd birthday. Which means visits from relatives! Aunt Lindsay and baby Darcy arrived a few days before Mira’s birthday and it was “Baby Darcy come here!” and “Where’s baby Darcy?” then “Shhhhh Baby Darcy is sleeping!” I’m not convinced Darcy even knew Mira was there. But Mira sure knew Darcy was there.

Erika, Lindsay, Mira and Darcy decided to take a trip to the west side market. We love visiting the west side market in Cleveland. Fresh produce, flowers, meats and tons of cheese. We all know that there are really only 2 food groups as far as Mira is concerned. There is the dairy group, which contains milk, cheese and butter. And there is the fruit group, which contains blueberries and strawberries. That’s about 90% of her actual diet. Here is a nice photo of Mira, Lindsay and Darcy looking at flowers.

After hanging out with the produce, the family decided to goto the other building where the meat products are housed. We forgot that there are some animal parts at stands that children might find frightening. One look at a pork vendor’s pig head was all it took to send Mira off the deep end. Erika grabbed her and bolted for the cheese aisle. Luckily a slice of cheddar and mom’s comforting hug helped put things into perspective. Ah cheese, is there anything that you can’t do?

It was a wonderful visit tothe market and Mira was all jacked up for her 3rd Birthday Party. Maybe this would be her first year to actually eat some cake????
